Anime question...Nick..Looking in your direction..

I just downloaded Direct Connect with the hopes of finding some shows I want, but I can't find a decent hub. Do you guys have a regular one that you grab most of your stuff of off?

Sweet...thanks. I like Direct Connect, it's just a matter of sharing enough files to not get the boot.

Yeah, every now and then you find one with no limit, but most there is.

Question for ya: did you download just straight Direct Connect? There is a program called DC++ which is basically a modded, more open version of Direct Connect. The bonus is that it lets you connect to multiple hubs. Thats why you'll see slot to hub ratios in many of the rules.

Anyway, here are the three that my DC connects to automatically on start:

AF6 Neechan's Anime
Address: neechan.no-ip.com
Minumum Share: 5 GB
No 56K allowed

AF! Killua Anime
Address: KILLUA.STUDENT.UTWENTE.NL
Minumum Share: 5 GB
Must have at least 2 slots open (DC++)

Anime Infinity
Address: ai2.no-ip.com
Minimum share: 7GB
Must have at least 2 slots open

Those minimum shares are a lot higher than I remembered. I guess I havent been down that low in a while, so I never payed attention.

If you dont have that much, do this. Connect to these. They probbaly wont kick you at first, but eventually they MAY see it and give a kick and tell you to come back when you have more.

BUT, first thing to do when you connect? Find me. My name on DC is UrashimaNick, just like here. Fidn me, and send me a PM. I'll open up an extra slot for you, then you can grab a shitload of stuff from me, enough to get you over the limits.

If somehow they DO notice your low share from the beginning, find a small room, go there, and then tell me here the name. I will come find you, and you can grab stuff from me.

The only trick is, I only connect to DC at night, before bed. My ISP senses big uploads, and slows my connection speed when it does. So browsing is useless, which forces me to run it at night, when I'm ready for bed. So you wont find me on now, but definitely look for me later.

I have 5 gigs shared files, but it's mostly MP3's, will it detect this and boot me anyway? Well, guess I'll find out..thanks again.

yeah, some of them just say the number of gigs, some say "5 gigs of anime" -- not sure whether they detect that or not though -- i doubt it -- if anything, i can see a mod PMing you, and asking about it, and i'm sure that if you explain that you're justing startign out, theyll let you stay
